Premature Ejaculation and Erectile Dysfunction

Premature ejaculation should be set apart from the other most common sexual problem – erectile dysfunction. ED is associated with the inability to get and maintain an erection, a medical condition which may have a variety of underlying causes.

Some men with erectile dysfunction may fail to delay orgasm and ejaculate earlier. Others need prolonged stimulation to achieve an erection enough for penetration. In such men sexual response may be very high so ejaculation can happen at once. Infrequent problems with rapid ejaculation that don’t have regular character and are not gone with anxiety or relationships difficulty are not diagnosed as premature ejaculation disorder.

The doctor putting a diagnosis should also take into consideration the patient’s age, general sexual experience, recent sexual activity, and the existence of the partner. Sometime erectile dysfunction is accompanied by ejaculation disorders, in such cases both diseases should be diagnosed carefully and treated with the help of medical options.
